Shorts for "The Girl"

I used a kwiksew pattern for these shorts. This is the book that the pattern came from. I bought this book about 15 years ago and have used it many many times over sewing clothing for number one son and now that two more children have arrived i'm sure the book will be falling apart by the time i'm finished with it. I have 4 of the kwiksew books and have found them to be great value for money.

The fabric is the same fabric that I used for her skirt here. I went back to spotlight a week or so after and found some more. The best bit was that it was 2 for 1. So I bought 6 metres and paid for 3. The fabric was reduced as well so I ended up paying about $2 a metre. Oh I love a bargain.

Snap Press

I bought myself a new fandangled snap press (will add pictures soon). They were on special for half price (or close to it) so I ummed and ahhed for about 24 hours and then ordered one. Of course if you buy a snap press you need to buy snaps to go with it. I ordered 17 different colours. 17 different colours on the order form didn't look so bad however 17 different colours in real life made me think I may have gone a bit overboard (nah not really). I transferred all the colours and components over to zip lock bags and stashed them in a big plastic tub. This system worked for a couple of days, then I got sick of trying to locate the different components of the colours when I needed to snap. So I cut up some calico and sewed the plastic zip log bags to it. Now all the snaps are in their order of colours and size. Makes it so much easier. I will probably end up some how putting them into a folder of some sort. Not yet worked out how i'm going to do that yet.

More little people sewing.

Some more little premmie dresses. This time not for Grace although I will be sewing some more for her soon.

These will be donated to charity for stillborn babies. A dear friend of mine is a member of group that does up memory boxes for the families of stillborn babies.

Pencil Rolls

Starting early with some Christmas presents. I also made some girly coloured ones but the photos seem to have gone AWOL during the computer transfer. When I locate the missing photos I will attempt to add them. I made 13 rolls in total however by the time I got around to photographing them I a few of them had found new homes.
